3-D sculpture very often starts with a simple lined-sketch and grows into a delicate 2-D drawing as a potential buyer and Brodin Studios work together to create all the elements necessary in a large Memorial or other public art project. Many times the sketch remains black and white and becomes a small limited edition print, but more often it is further developed and turns into an interesting and beautiful watercolor painting. Steve Marinelli has offered his considerable artistic talents to the Law Enforcement & Fire/Rescue communities by working in between the Studios and various projects producing a series of prints that are turned into 3-D bronze sculpture. Working as an imprompto contractor for 16 years following graduation from the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, he says smilingly that he’s one of only two or three graduates of his class still working every day in the arts. Studios owners, Neil and Danielle, were very fortunate to have found Steve as together, the three have proven that “fine art” and meaningful and enduring realistic statuary meet between the 2nd and 3rd dimensions.
